Thrown Away Thursday–Knob Crazy!

I found this vanity/dresser at a yard sale and immediately thought of my sister Olivia who was moving back
to Texas from Chicago. It is a two piece hutch that I really don’t think go together, but it works so who
am I to question, right?! Regardless, it was beautiful and perfect for her, not to mention the price tag was oh…
$10
(cha-ching).  Yep, right up my alley!

I took my pictures separately because this thing is a beast and very heavy to move back and forth so you’ll
have to use your imagination.

Ashley’s Pintrest Inspired Room

Last week I took a couple of days off for myself! Woo hoo!!  Problem is, instead of resting like I should have, I painted. Not just furniture either…Ashley’s room!!
And you know what, it looks soooo much better!! Except for that nasty carpet, yuk, but I did attempt to pull it up. Problem was, what’s underneath is even worse!! Sammy about had a cow when I told him what I was planning on doing and of course, with everything else he deals with me on, he took it with a grain of salt and just let me do my thing!

Off to the land of Pintrest!

Thrown Away Thursday- The Forbidden Teenager Room

I’m doing things a bit different today!
Not only will you get to see another part of my house, but I will take you inside a place that should be forbidden to all outsiders….Ashley’s room!  You all know she left for college but her room remained as she left it.. a mess! Ok, I will admit I added to the mess when I started hoarding all my furniture in there but let’s be real, it didn’t get that way from just me.
So again, technically not a “thrown away” transformation, but it’s a good ‘before and after’ non the less.
P.S. I took the pictures as is, no cleaning, so consider yourself warned!

Tossed and Turned Tuesday–Chevron Strikes Again!

This will be short and sweet because I’m super tired and ready to curl up on the sofa and watch TV. So without further ado, here’s the new and IMPROVED, chevron table. Not so square anymore is it!

The colors I chose were mint green (which is a little hard to see with this blinding sun) and light gray.  I thought the color combo did this guy justice without going too extreme.  I had it for sale at our outdoor market, but since the market was REALLLLLYYY slow, it ended up coming home with me but only because there was no room for it in my booth. I’m sure it won’t be too long before it goes in the booth and off to a well deserving home.

Thrown Away Thursday- Too Square To Be Cool

I don’t know if these types of tables are put in my pathway by Divine Intervention or if I just stumble upon them because my tunnel vision only allows me to see small tables like this one. Whatever the case, I love them, and painting them is always soul soothing.

I mean, look at this guy. He has so much potential and he doesn’t even know it yet.
And did you see his price tag?!

Tossed and Turned Tuesday- Process and Progress

Yeah, I think this was a big piece to handle even if I started working on it little by little every other week. But we all know it’s a process to get things to be as beautiful as we see it in our heads, this piece included!!

Even if it’s not finished, I wanted to show you where I am so far. By the way, thanks to Sammy for holding the back part up so I could take a quick picture for the blog!!  He was getting a little antsy there for a minute.  He even shook his head at me and said “why do you need this photo…now??”. Haha, you’d think he’d learn not to question the method to my madness!

Thrown Away Thursday–My Prices and A Secret Project!

I had dinner for my mom, sisters and brother on Friday, which was nice because it’s not something we often do. Plus we got to see how we are doing and how life in general is going. This includes for me…ahem....furniture transformations.  My sister Olivia, brought up a good question that I wanted to answer here. She asked if it has ever been brought to my attention the price I pay for my furniture versus how much I sell it for.  Does anyone ever feel jipped, or ask why such a big increase? I totally get it, and think it’s a good point.

Tossed and Turned Tuesday–Made my own chalk paint and for the love of trees…

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Mine was less than eventful but I think I’m going to start a weekly “To Do” list so I can feel like I’ve accomplished something during my weekend.  I always have the best intentions for my weekends but they eventually end up a blur and are gone way to fast. Not to mention, I’ll start on one thing, go on to the next and the next,  and when I look back at what I’ve done, I haven’t accomplished one single solitary thing. Does that happen to you too???

Case in point, I finished painting my side table that I’m about to show you, but then put it aside before I put a finishing coat of wax on it. Then I woke up Monday morning thinking “CRAP, I didn’t finish”. So seriously guys, Rita needs some help!  Whether it is physically or mentally, I have no idea but I’m so all over the place it’s ridiculous!

Before I get onto another topic, let me show you these “after” photos so that I can check that off my list! Ha ha!
