I've Been TAGGED!

Rory at the Greentiques Soution tagged me with this game. The instructions are to repost my sixth post pictures and tell what I would do differently. My sixth post consisted of Brianna's Card Suite table. If I had to do this table again, I would have primed it first and used stencils for the card prints. It took a LOT of blue paint and I hand drew everything. It wasn't perfect to say the least but I still had a fun time doing it. Being one of my first projects, I'd say I learned a lot from this little guy.
I can't get my linky thing to work to tag my next victims so if you read this and feel like posting your 6th blog pic, be my guest. I'll be watching...
Have fun,

I only had Bud in my life for a day and a half. I found him at a garage sale for a few dollars, took him home, fixed him up, then sold him at the flea market.

Yes, he sold rather quickly, in fact Ashley had just given him his name. She said he looked liked he belonged in a country kitchen. What can I say, she's random that way.

Just a quick little before and after to start off the week.

The seat shifted a little but I fixed it. ha ha.

"Good opinion once lost, is lost forever"

He stood quietly in the corner, distinguished, yet subtle. At first glance there didn't seem to be anything special about him but once polished and painted, his true colors came through. It was only fitting that he be named...Mr. Darcy.

We named her Olivia

I attended the flea market this weekend at Junkadoodle in Dallas and had a blast. I did so well and met so many nice people. If it was only my full time job.

One of the treasures I sold was this chest of drawers we named Olivia because it kinda reminded me of my sister. Ashley and I ended up naming all of the things we sold, so as I post them here, I'll reveal their names.
Ashley and I were very sad to see Olivia go. Here she is before:

And After:

This blue beauty went home to a nice family.

They also took home Mr. Darcy. I'll introduce you to him tomorrow.

Now tell me, if you saw this laying on the side of the road would you pick it up? This stool fell under what my husband calls "there's a reason people throw things away" category. I didn't see what he saw, instead I saw great legs and structure.

That's how this..

And believe it or not, this is pretty much what I saw the day I picked it up. Hope you enjoy!
By the way, this post is dedicated to my brother-in-law, Chris who thought it was impossible for me to restore. I think I wowed him... Oh ye of little faith.

Oh my gosh I'm exhausted! Today our office is closed so rather than getting up at 7am to go to work this morning I've been working on my projects and getting ready for the flea market this Saturday. I'm really excited because I'll actually be prepared this time. Last Fall I was working 60 hours or more each week so I only had a hand full of things to take but it was fun anyway and a break from work. Ashley went with me and even though we froze our bunz off, it was a great mother daughter bonding experience. She's coming with me again this weekend. I also had a fellow blogger come out and see me (HI MISS MADISON'S MOMMY!). That totally made my day.

Anywho, if you live in the Dallas area and are looking for some really cool stuff, come by and check out Jim and Betty Ann's Junkadoodle on Lovers Lane, next to the Love Field Airport. Festivities start at 9. See you there~
Oh, and as to not leave you without a before and after, here's one I did over the weekend. I found this piano bench for two dollars at a garage sale. It was perfect to go underneath the sofa table for extra seating when we have guests. Here is the transformation. It is brown to match the living room furniture. Hope you like it.

Thanks for looking,

The CLASSIC Frame!

The past couple of weeks I've been posting about a few fun and funky frames for the flea market but today I'm posting about your traditional use for a frame. Sometimes they are just meant to hold a photo and hang on your wall.

I aquired these sets of frames and hadn't had a use for them until I got my china cabinet (ABE) and then I knew exactly how these frames would work with him.

I scanned a couple of old photos of my grandma when she was young as well as the backs of a couple of the photos my grandfather had sent her when he was in he war. They are cute little love notes.

After I painted the frames white I inserted the photos and here they are. My grandma's pictures and notes are now fittingly placed next to Abe...and I am happy.

Here are the frames before:
