Frame #4 - Cork Boards

Remember the corkboards?

Well here they are now...
...just a coat of paint and painted foliage and voila!

The blue one is hard to see with the sun shining so I might change the color of the flower later. But I do love the final result.

Frame #3 - Twin Frames

Remember the twinkies?

Now they are Aqua/black PEG BOARDS!

These frames are still a work in progress. Working on the backs to hold the peg boards in place. But they are fun and conventional and YES blue is one of my most favorite colors. I originally painted the pegboard aqua too but when I asked my daughter how it looked, she looked up from her lap top and said "yikes", I knew it was too much. I painted it black instead.

Here are a couple more shots:

Thanks again for looking~

Frame#2 - Purple Texas Frame

Goodbye ugly purple frame...Hello Baby Blue Beauty!

I don't think many people would have given much thought to the purple ugliness of the old frame as far as something you'd want to keep around your house, but I did. With some minor adjustments of course.

All I did was paint the frame this lovely color, grabbed a piece of fabric reminants from a garage sale for a quarter, and a piece of foamcore from a previous project. Just needs a few pushpins and it's now a memo board.

Before - Awful!

After - Amazing!

Frame #1 - Michelle's Frame

Remember what I started with? Technically it was a cork board that that was falling apart. The back was coming off so I had to hot glue it together. I was in the process of painting it white when I took this picture. I didn't like plan A so I went with plan B below.

Plan B- An inspiration board for my friend Michelle. She's talked about having a place to pin up all of her fashion inspirations so I created one for her.

Here's how I did it:
1. I painted the frame black. Any black paint will do. I just used what I had left over.
2. I used left over material I had from reupholstering one of Michelle's chairs in her room. I applied it to the board with spray adhesive and when that didn't work, I used mod podge. Just enough to stick it on.
3. I hot glued left over twine I had to give it a finishing touch!

Easy, quick and notice everything used was from what I already had.

Hope you like it. Stay tuned for frame #2.

I'm letting you know in advance that the next few posts will consist of transforming frames into really cool stuff. These are frames I either found at a garage sale for a quarter, freebies from people who knew I would love them, or thrift store finds for less than $1.00.

I'm still working on some for the flea market so if I come up with something else I'll be sure to update you on them.

For now I'll show you the before's and HOPEFULLY my after's will spark some creativeness in you so that you'll think before you throw away that frame that's been in your hall closet for 10 years.
Remember the after's will come as I post them to my blog so keep an eye out...and remember you were warned!

Frames Before:

1. Michelle's Frame

2. Purple Texas Frame

3. Twin Frames

4. Cork Boards (techically not a frame, but oh well)

Check back for the after's!

Bedside Table

Bet if you were me, you couldn't pass this guy up either. I won't tell you how much I paid only that the bottom leg that is chipped played a big part in my bargaining.

I love the design on the front of the drawers and the drawer pulls...there are hardly words!

My design- grayish, bluish, distress, distress, distress.

I love it and will be selling it at the flea market. Again small house, not alot of room, frustrated husband...need I say more.

Thanks for looking!

I'm Really Liking White

I fell in love with this when I saw it at a garage sale. I love the pulls, the curves, the drawer, you name it!! I about fell over when the lady said "I'll let you have it for $5.00". I whipped that cash out faster than I don't know what.
The only problem is I'm running out of places to put these beauties. So this will also be at my flea market.
I painted it white and spray painted the hardware dark metallic. I antiqued the sides and edges..and with a tear in my eye I will let it go (to the highest bidder). Kidding. I'm reasonable...not Five Dollar reasonable...but reasonable nonetheless.

My Brown Beauty...

Sometimes it's okay to be Green with Envy

I promised a friend that I would post something colorful before my next post. Sometimes it's good to break up those white, black, and gray postings. I'm sorry I don't have a before picture of this one but just picture it from somewhere out of the 70's in the typical wood paneling wall color.
The table itself is actually really small and I really liked this color for it. It was a fun little transformation. I got it from my in-laws when they moved. It was behind a cabinet of movies . You would have never know it was there. When I helped my father-in-law pack up his movies, we saw it and he said "uh oh...I think this is screaming 'CURBSIDE CREATIONS'" so he gave it to me.
Should have posted this for St. Patty's day. Oh well!

Gray Round Table

I've seen all these cool gray distressed tables over blogs and have been wanting to do one for myself. I picked this up at a garage sale and it just spoke Gray!~

Tell me what you think...

Cute Bookshelf~

Found this cute little bookshelf at a garage sale for $3.00. It was painted a THICK brown. I stripped as much as I could and sanded all of the bumps of paint...yuck!

Although I really like brown this was a little much so I transformed this brown bookshelf into this new turquoise one. It was a little loud for my taste so I toned it down with tinted black glaze and added material to the back.

Hope you like it! I will be selling this little guy at a flea market April 10th, here in Dallas. I'll be adding a note to my side bar with all the specifics of the flea market for anyone here in the Dallas area.

Thanks for looking,
